I know it’s Valentine’s Day, but seeing as I know that you know it’s Valentine’s Day and this project is about the lesser-known holidays, I thought I’d bring you Ferris Wheel Day instead. I suppose you could kill two birds with one stone and take your date on a Ferris wheel ride today, however I think that will only work if you’re in southern California or the Southern Hemisphere. (We have a grand total of about two feet of snow and ice around here, so I doubt there are any carnivals or Ferris wheels currently in operation anywhere near me.)
Going to a local carnival is a popular summer pastime. There are many towns near me that host their own week-long fairs during the warm months, and most of them will have a small Ferris wheel among the ride attractions. There’s something about all the cheerful colors and the bright yellow sunshine against the blue sky that can only make you smile and cherish the fun times to be had with friends and family. That’s what I was trying to capture in this collection.
Check out the beautiful Ferris wheel photos! Gorgeous! The pop-up cards are amazing as well! Visit and favorite away, and take a look at some of my other Every Day is a Holiday treasuries here!

“Every Day is a Holiday” is my Etsy Treasury project for 2014. I’m hoping to find unique and beautiful items that exemplify the holiday of the day—the sillier and weirder, the better! What’s better than finding something worth celebrating each and every day?
