Etsy Treasury: Irish Coffee Day (Every Day is a Holiday)

When you were a kid, you probably sipped a nice cup of hot cocoa once you came inside after playing in the freshly fallen snow on a cold winter’s day. It would warm you from the inside out and make you smile, and successfully convince you that all was right with the world.

Flash forward to adulthood, when tons of snow outside often means shoveling the driveway, chipping the ice off your car, and hoping you don’t pull something in your back or slip on the icy front steps. After all that work in blindingly cold weather, does a hot cocoa really cut it? How about an Irish coffee instead? Yup, that’ll hit the spot!

Irish Coffee Day celebrates the original caffeine and alcohol combo (sorry Four Loko and Red Bull and vodka). Invented in the 1940s, Irish coffee blends fine Irish whiskey (like Jameson) with freshly brewed coffee and a dollop of whipped cream. Relaxation and invigoration all in one! And it tastes divine! Ahhhhh, mmmmmmm… Now I really want one… 🙂

My treasury is a collection of all sorts of things inspired by this soul-warming beverage. Candles, soaps, edibles, as well as mugs specially designed to hold this magical elixir. So take a look, visit the shops, favorite their wares, and have yourself an Irish coffee today! Remember, you can see my other Every Day is a Holiday treasuries on Etsy right here!

“Every Day is a Holiday” is my Etsy Treasury project for 2014. I’m hoping to find unique and beautiful items that exemplify the holiday of the day—the sillier and weirder, the better! What’s better than finding something worth celebrating each and every day?
